Pink — a Fashionable Color for a Wedding Dress

White color certainly dominates wedding fashion. But pink, feminine, tender and supremely romantic, maybe the best choice for the main dress of your life.

Why only white?

Wedding dresses were by no means always spotlessly white. Before Queen Victoria, who introduced this tradition in 1840, wedding dresses were usually red, the color of love. White for such an occasion was rejected as the color usually associated with a funeral.

Entered into fashion from the mid-19th century, white dresses were associated with the ideals of innocence and purity, because the bride was supposed to be a virgin.

Today, more and more brides prefer to get rid of this dictate of white, choosing wedding dresses in red, white with burgundy accents or even black. Pink was more associated with the color of cocktail dresses worn by the bridesmaids, but now it is gradually occupying an increasingly significant place in the wedding wardrobe.
